What is the External Transfers feature?

The External Transfers feature is a free feature in PEFCUMobile that gives you an easy and safe way to move money between your PEFCU account and your non-PEFCU accounts (you must be listed as an account holder on both accounts). Need to move money quickly? No problem. Just set up an external transfer from your smart phone, and the money can be transferred as early as the next day. Using the external transfer feature saves you more time than driving to a branch. It also saves you from spending extra on checks, envelopes, stamps, and those costly ATM fees that are easily overlooked. 

Is there a fee to use the External Transfers feature?

No. You can use the External Transfers feature at no cost.   

How quickly is the money transferred?

If the external transfer is set up before 5 p.m. on a business day, it will be processed that day, and the money can be transferred as early as the next business day. External transfers set up after 5 p.m. or on a non-business day will be processed on the next business day, and the money can be transferred as early as the first business day thereafter.

Can I use the External Transfers feature to request money from my other account(s)?

The great thing about the External Transfers feature is that you can move money back and forth between your PEFCU account and your non-PEFCU account(s). Yes, you can use the External Transfers feature to request money from an account you have with another financial institution, only if your name is listed as an account holder.

I am trying to connect my External Account but it is not connecting. What do I do next?

To link your External Account you may be required to go through a couple of verification steps. To do so, enter your Full Name, the Routing Number and Account Number of the financial institution that you are transferring money with. Two small deposits (microdeposits) will then be made to the account. You will be asked to verify the deposit amounts to securely add the account. This is an initial set-up to establish the connection between the two accounts. Once this step is complete, you will not be asked to do this in future transfer transactions.

What is the Pay a Person feature?

Pay a Person is a quick and safe way for you to send money to a friend, family member, or other acquaintance by using their email address or phone number. Your contact can either choose to receive the money instantly in real-time or the next business day. This makes paying someone back, splitting the dinner bill, or just gifting someone a little cash much easier, saving you time and extra fees.  

Does my contact have to be a Pay a Person user?

No, they don’t have be a Pay a Person user. All they need is a phone number or email address and a share account or deposit account with any financial institution.

What is a Pay a Person real-time payment?

A Pay a Person real-time payment is a delivery option that allows your contact to receive payment instantly to their debit card.  If the contact chooses real-time payment, they’ll be charged a $1.00 fee.  

What is Pay a Person next-day payment?

A Pay a Person next-day payment is a delivery option that allows your contact to receive payment the next business day, at no cost.  If your contact chooses next-day payments, they will be required to enter their bank routing and account numbers for the next-day option. 

Is there a fee to use the Pay a Person feature?

You will not be charged a fee to use Pay a Person. However, if your contact chooses the real-time payment, they’ll be charged a $1.00 fee to claim the funds. If your contact chooses the next-day payment, they will not be charged.   

What can I do if I there is an unauthorized Move Money transaction on my account?

If you've noticed an unauthorized Move Money transaction, please contact PEFCU immediately. You can also fill out our Move Money & Bill Pay Claim form and email it to [email protected].
