LAKELAND, Fla., August 18, 2020—Publix Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) welcomes Robert M. Goebel as its new Chief Lending Officer (CLO), effective immediately.
With 28 years of banking experience under his belt, Goebel is a seasoned lending executive with proven expertise in business development, credit management, regulatory compliance, and other specialized areas of financial services.
Prior to transitioning to PEFCU, Goebel had served as CLO of a multi-million-dollar Washington-based credit union since 2015. There, he directed all lending activities, including the introduction of new mortgage products, expansion of business services, and growth of commercial loan balances.
PEFCU CEO Bob Bregler is impressed with Goebel’s ability to make the credit union’s loan offerings relevant to the needs of the members. “In the past, he has demonstrated the ability to assess a member’s need then create strategies that will get the right product or service in their hands,” says Bregler. “His creativity and flexibility will help us decide how to best serve each member at every stage of their life.”
From briefly serving as acting Chief Information Officer to spearheading a team for defining core values during his prior employment, Goebel has proven to Bregler that his perspective will bring a valuable dynamic to PEFCU’s newly formed senior leadership team.
“PEFCU is glad to add his experience and talent for managing growing assets to our team,” Bregler says. “We welcome Robert to our PEFCU family.”
