PayPal® Send Money Sunset FAQs
Why are you discontinuing PayPal® Send Money?
We know you see value in Send Money, and we have been developing a new and improved replacement you’ll find better and more user-friendly than Send Money. However, the reason we are discontinuing Send Money at this time is because our mobile app developer will no longer support it.
When will this Send Money be discontinued?
Send Money will be discontinued on April 20, 2021. Any payments scheduled to be sent on April 20, 2021 will be processed; however, you will not be able to use the feature on that date to make new transactions.
What if I have recurring payments set up in Send Money?
Since any recurring or one-time payments scheduled to be made after April 20, 2021, will not be processed, we strongly suggest you use our Bill Pay feature to schedule recurring payments instead. You can use electronic Bill Pay to pay individuals, businesses, and merchants directly from your PEFCU account.
What if I forget to cancel recurring payments by the sunset date?
Don’t worry. Any recurring or one-time payments scheduled to be sent after April 20, 2021 will not be processed.
What if I have a payment still pending on the sunset date?
If your pending payment is scheduled to be made on April 20, 2021, it will be processed. However, if there is a pending payment scheduled to be sent after April 20, 2021, it will not be processed.
Will I be able to see my payment history after Send Money is disabled?
Yes, you will. As always, you can review your PEFCU account’s transaction history via online and mobile banking or by viewing your monthly statements.
Can I access Send Money directly through the PayPal® site?
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to access our Send Money feature via PayPal®, but you can use their other services if you are a registered user.
If I can’t use PayPal® Send Money, is there another option available?
Yes, we have another free option we think you’ll find helpful. You can use our free Bill Pay service until we roll out our new and improved payment service. Bill Pay has many of the capabilities that Send Money has, and more. You can use electronic Bill Pay to pay individuals, businesses, and merchants directly from your PEFCU account.
What will PEFCU replace PayPal® Send Money with?
We will be implementing a new and improved payment platform on our mobile banking app that will allow you to easily send money to your friends, family, and other people you want to pay. And of course, you’ll be able to schedule payments to companies or people you do business with as well. You can expect to see this new payment platform available by this summer.
When will the new service be available?
We understand that having this service is important to you, but we don’t have an exact date, yet. It will take some more time to ensure we give you the best product possible. We are still working on developing this awesome feature and expect to delight you with more details within the next few months.
